The Big Race!!! ( well for us it was)

April 4th finally arrived!!! Anisa, Kaleen and Jamie ran a 5K (3.1 miles) fun run. This was a first for Jamie and Kaleen. Here we are before the race. Anisa didn't want to be in any pictures but we didn't give her much of a choice.

And the race is on...

We decided that it would be a good idea to visit the restroom before we ran but with only 7min. left until start time, we barely made it. We ended up starting in the back of the group but Anisa thought that would be best since it meant that less people would have to pass us and make us feel bad.

"I can see the finish line!!!"

Here we are sprinting toward the finish line. Jamie beat her best treadmill time by 10 min and came in at around 30min(Gavin wasn't watching the clock since he thought that he had 10 more minutes before he had to pay attention). Kaleen, who was going to speed walk the whole 5k, decided last min to run it and came in with a time of 34.54 min and Anisa came in with a time of 36.34 (I think). We were so proud of ourselves. Our goal was to finish the race without the aid of a gurney. Yeah us!!!

First Place!

Kaleen's time earned her a first place medal for her age group of 25-29 women!!! You go girl!

In Memory of Red Neck Thanksgiving 2006

This was a true red neck thanksgiving. Nana did not want a mess on her carpet so we bought a tarp and covered the carpet. Very Classy.

As we were preparing the ham we discovered that it did not fit into the roaster pan, so of course the solution was to get a saw from the garage and cut the end off.

To our dismay the ham was still a bit too big. NO PROBLEM! We'll just use the patio chair as a weight for the lid. Hey it worked and we wanted to cook the ham outside anyway to save space in the kitchen.

2006 was a fun and memorable thanksgiving for the Huber family.
